Disaster Resilient Construction Phase II

About the project

This project creates awareness and builds capacity for safe construction practices. The second phase of the project develops capacities of local artisans, masons, and engineers in building disaster-resilient infrastructure in nine districts, as well as improves training curricula for local leaders, masons and carpenters. The project will also facilitate regional exchange visits for project management, in order to share the lessons learned from Bhutan with a wider audience. 

Project Objectives

  1. To create awareness on and build the capacity for safe construction practices in Bhutan.

UNDAF Outcomes and Outputs

UNDAF Outcome 1: By 2018, sustainable and green economic growth that is equitable, inclusive climate and disaster resilient and promotes poverty reduction and employment opportunities for vulnerable groups enhanced.

UNDAF Output 1.2: National and local institutions and individuals are better prepared to respond to and reduce climate change induced and other disaster risks.
